About us ...

Who we are

We are John, Lorraine and Boasley  and we live our 62ft narrowboat ‘Round Tuit’.

Since January 2024 we’ve been continuous cruisers on the British canal network.

We slowly travel through the waterways, mooring in unfamiliar places and visiting towns and villages that we might never have seen if we hadn’t chosen this transient lifestyle.

A life on the water offers us peace and quiet, a closeness to nature, a chance to explore new places and space to breath.

This website is our way of sharing this journey.

What we do

We travel slowly and lead a simple life. Along the way, we capture quiet moments on camera and add them to our diary.

Whether it’s a walk along the towpath, a dragonfly on the roof or a sudden downpour on a quiet day – we try to share it all.

I also have a pop-up shop, called Bobbin on the Water, that I open when we are moored. The crochet hats, bobbin lace bookmarks and sewn accessories are all made right here on the boat. We’d love it if you would come to see what we have to offer.
