Why Narrowboat Mornings Are the Best
The first drops start to tap on the roof, and suddenly the world feels softer, quieter… slower. A steaming mug of tea in hand and wrapped in a cosy blanket, I watch the mist drift over the canal. There’s a kind of magic in these rainy mornings that only life on the water can bring.
Even if the day outside isn’t perfect, inside the boat everything feels just right. The gentle rhythm of the rain, the muted colours of the morning and the calm that comes with being afloat. This is narrowboat life at its cosiest.
It’s moments like these that make me grateful for this slow, simple lifestyle.
